Pickleball is a fun paddle game that uses a perforated plastic ball over a tennis-type net on a badminton-sized court.

Rental Information

  • All rentals must be pre-approved by Suzanne Rivas-Valle.
  • Commercial / For profit rates are at 200% of standard rates.
  • Copperview can not accommodate groups who use our gyms during public 'open gym' for practices or games. Gym will need to be reserved for a group practice or game.
  • Copperview Recreation Center cannot accommodate any dance-related events and/or dancing as part of the rental event.
  • One-time rentals over six hours will not be approved.
  • Center Floor Plan: only shaded areas are available for rent.
  • We have 109 parking spaces and six ADA parking spaces.  For the safety of all who are using the building, do not park in any red curb or County parking areas.  These need to be left open for emergency vehicles.
  • Please review Rental Agreement Contract before contacting the Room Rental Coordinator.  Please note, the staff does not set up, take down or clean up after any rental.
  • We have 12 8-foot tables, 13 6-foot tables, and 250 chairs. Rental party is responsible for the set-up and clean-up of tables, chairs, and used areas (restrooms, hallways).  If your party needs more tables and chairs, they will have to be rented by an outside vendor.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have a Free 7 Day Pass for prospective patrons. These are good only for Copperview Recreation Center for seven consecutive calendar days and are non-transferable. Fitness room, Fitness Classes, and Open Gym are included in the free pass. A pass application will need to be completed, an account created by front desk staff, and a photo taken. '7 free day pass' card will then be distributed.  

The skate park is now open 7 days a week, WEATHER PERMITTING. Open at dawn, no earlier than 8:00 AM. Closed at dusk, no later than 9:00 PM.

Please call the UPD Midvale office at (801) 840-4000. Individuals will be cited for trespassing.

In both cases below, the Facility Manager or designee will review the documents to certify eligibility. The applicant will be notified of approval or denial within five (5) working days of receipt of the completed form and documents.

Free and Reduced Lunch

Youth's parent or guardian of a dependent child may demonstrate low income status by providing:

  • Letter from their school district showing qualification for free or reduced-price school lunches

This status applies only to youth enrolling in recreational programs: Soccer, Basketball, Flag Football, Track & Field. Eligibility must be shown when registering for a program and is valid for 12 months, at which time renewal is required.

Upon presentation of a letter of eligibility,  the program participant will be registered for the program by staff.

Free and Reduced Discounts:

  • Program rate less than $50  =  $5 discount
  • Program rate over $50  =  $10 discount
  • Program rates over $100 = $25 discount

There is no limit in the number of discounts per year.

Youth Recreation Program Scholarship

Families and individuals must have an income equal to or less than 150% of the current federal poverty level, as determined by the US Department of Health and Human Services Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Household income verification must be documented and confirmed by any of the flowing

  • Prior year's tax return

This status applies only to youth enrolling in recreational programs:  Soccer, Basketball, Flag Football, Track and Field. Eligibility must be shown when registering for a program and is valid for 12 months, at which time renewal is required.
