Youth Programs

Here at Youth Services, each program serves a different population of youth. Whether it be substance abuse treatment or job training skills, free counseling or a safe place to go after school, each of the staff in each of the programs is working together with the same goal in mind: to provide the youth with a place of safety, shelter and support. We appreciate your support and interest in the work we are doing in the Salt Lake Valley area. Most of these programs are offered as a free service to the community and we hope that as you learn more about them, you will be able to take advantage of these opportunities as well as share them with others.

After School Programs

Youth Services' Afterschool Programs is a school-based program serving the areas of Magna, Kearns, West Valley, and Millcreek.

Counseling Services

Salt Lake County Youth Services has several different no-cost therapy programs to meet the needs of youth and families in our community.

Family Peer Support Specialists

Our mission is to help parents and/or primary caregivers with children experiencing mental health and/or substance abuse challenges.

Housing - Milestone Transitional Living Program

Ending the cycle of homelessness and dependency by helping young adults become self-sufficient

Juvenile Receiving Center

Free crisis counseling, referrals and short-term placement for youth

Prevention Group Classes

Free, interactive psycho-educational groups for teens and families to increase protective factors and prepare kids to stay out of trouble.

Safe Place Program

Youth Services manages the nationwide program called Safe Place in Utah, which is dedicated to helping youth in trouble with a safe place to go for help and/or shelter.

Substance Abuse Disorder Treatment

Youth Services provides a no-cost Substance Use Disorder Program that includes a Substance Use Disorder Evaluation and if needed, Standard Out-Patient treatment.
