Recorder Rashelle Hobbs

Greetings, Salt Lake County residents! I'm Rashelle Hobbs, your County Recorder, and I'm absolutely delighted to serve you. I proudly stepped into this role in November 2018, bringing with me 17 years of dedicated public service experience within our wonderful county. A true Salt Lake Valley native, I graduated from Cottonwood High School, pursued my bachelor's degree at the University of Utah, and furthered my education with a master's degree in professional communication from Westminster College.

Homeownership, the heart of the American dream, holds a special place in our lives. As your County Recorder, I play a vital role in making this dream a reality by overseeing the foundation of our local real estate market. I am committed to finding innovative ways to enhance our services, ensuring that your needs are met efficiently and directly.

In the Recorder's Office, where document recording and customer service are key functions, I uphold the principles of transparency and accountability. My goal is to surpass your expectations, providing a level of service and professionalism that not only meets but exceeds your needs with the utmost integrity.

Since taking office, my focus has been on reaching out to and protecting Salt Lake County property owners. I am particularly proud of initiatives like the creation and launch of Property Watch—a free notification service designed to safeguard property owners from fraud and theft. Additionally, I make annual visits to all Salt Lake County Senior Centers, offering property records, enrolling property owners in Property Watch, and addressing property ownership inquiries.

On a personal note, I am the proud mother of two school-aged children. My husband, a fantastic father and chemical engineer, is my biggest supporter and best friend. Together with our family dog named Hobbs, we relish the joy of living and working in Salt Lake County.

In my role, I bring steady leadership to the office and advocate for Recorder employees with the Salt Lake County Council. My commitment to family is evident not just in my personal life but in my advocacy for Salt Lake County residents. I'm always on the lookout for new ways to serve you better, so please don't hesitate to reach out to my office if there's anything we can do for you! Your well-being is our top priority.
