Elevating community voice to inform criminal justice policy and practice, with the goal of eliminating persistent racial and ethnic disparities in the criminal justice system and addressing how criminal justice practices have affected communities of color.

An official government identification is required to access most supportive services, making lack of government identification a barrier for the county’s ability to provide alternatives to incarceration. The Government ID Working Group will explore solutions to addressing the barriers vulnerable people in Salt Lake County face when trying to get a state ID card.
