Celebrating 75 years of people, parks & play!
Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation was formed back in May 1946 by community-minded citizens who wanted to coordinate recreation activities throughout the County, build more park space, trails infrastructure, and manage the rapid growth of recreation programs for the benefit of residents.
75 years on, we continue to strive to fulfill our mission of improving lives through people, parks & play. Join us to celebrate this milestone with fun commemorative activities this summer & fall!
Throwback Photo Contest
June – August
Explore and find our parks and recreation landmarks with this monthly social media challenge. At the beginning of each month, a challenge list will be posted on Salt Lake County Parks & Recreation’s social media pages @slcoparksandrec. Find each spot, snap a pic, and post it to Facebook or Instagram! Make sure to check in or geotag the location and use the hashtag #peopleparksandplay.
Each landmark check-in will be entered into a drawing to win prizes (multiple check-ins allowed per person). A winner will be randomly selected at the end of each month.
