The 62 acres site consists of 47 acres purchased with park bond money and will be home to a regional park for county residents who live in the Kearns/West Valley area.
Opened in September 2016, the regional park includes a mining-themed destination playground, basketball courts donated by the Utah Jazz, a giant mining tire donated by Kennecott, a multipurpose field, large pavilion, tennis courts, pickleball courts, restrooms and open lawn areas.
