The Salt Lake Valley Landfill accepts all municipal solid waste. More information about hard-to-recycle items can be found at the Salt Lake County Recycle website.

Accepts friable and non-friable asbestos. Friable asbestos is accepted at the rate of $500/ton and non-friable asbestos is accepted at $100/ton. Prices will be pro-rated according to the weight of the asbestos- containing material being disposed.

Residential only
Freon containing items such as residential only refrigerators, freezers, drinking water coolers, and a/c units are accepted. The Freon and other refrigerants will be removed for proper disposal according to federal regulations before the items are recycled.

Tree limbs, grass clipping, and leaves are accepted at $17/ton
Anything in and around your home that is poisonous, flammable, corrosive or toxic. It is many of your cleaning supplies, paint, yard care chemicals, pesticides, fuels, batteries, electronics, used oil and antifreeze.

Residential Recycling Only (No Commercial)
Please proceed to the Landfill Scales for directions to the recycling bins. There are bins for flattened cardboard, plastic bottles, metal cans, glass bottles, and clothing. No plastic bags, styrofoam, or fast food to-go containers.
