Defensive Driving (Instructor Lead)
This 4-hour Defensive Driving Class is classroom based that meets the requirements to drive a county vehicle. The classes are scheduled on a quarterly basis at from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Public Works administration building training room, 604 W. 6960 S., Midvale, UT The cost is $35.00 per person. Looking for a Forklift class? Forklift Classes are scheduled to be taught on a semi-annual basis. The classes are scheduled on a quarterly basis at from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. at the Public Works administration building training room, 604 W. 6960 S., Midvale, UT The cost is $60.00 per person. Defensive Driving (Found Under Job Specific Training)
- 4-Hour Class
The course is offered through the National Safety Council and will take between 4 to 4 1/2 hours to complete. The course is delivered via multiple modules that do not all have to be completed in one sitting. NOTE: This course is *not* tracked by the Employees' University. Departments will be billed $20.00 each time their employees take this course. Certificates are included in the cost of this course
- 2-Hour Class
If you have taken the 4-hour Defensive Driving course in English or Spanish and have driven a County vehicle for 2 years without an accident, you may take the new 2-hour Defensive Driving course to complete the County's requirement. NOTE: This course is *not* tracked by the Employees' University. Departments will be billed $20.00 each time their employees take this course. You can print a certificate upon completion but if you would like a certificate mailed to you the fee is an additional $5.00.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training (Found under Emergency Services Training)
This is a basic 6-hour is available to all interested County employees.NOTE: While supplies last, employees who complete the level one class will be provided with fleece vests.
