How can I check out your site for free?

We have a Free 7 Days Pass for prospective patrons. These are good only for Copperview Recreation Center for seven consecutive calendar days and are non-transferable. Fitness room, aerobics, and open gym are included in the free pass.

Pass application will need to be completed, account created by front desk staff and photo taken. '7 free day pass' card will be distributed.  

Skate Park rules:

1. Skate at your own risk. This park is a non-supervised facility.

2. Skateboarding and skating are hazardous recreational activities. Use of this facility may result in death, paralysis, brain damage, concussion, broken bones, or other serious injury. Any use is at your own risk. Salt Lake County and Midvale City do not assume any responsibility for injuries.

3. The use of protective equipment, including helmets, knee and elbow pads, and wrist guards is strongly recommended.

4. This is your skate park, Please take care of it. Tagging, graffiti, or abuse is not permitted.

5. Be Respectful of other park users: moderate your language and keep music volume low.

6. Use trash containers provided.  Alcohol, tobacco products, drugs, and glass containers are NOT allowed.

7. Do not use when the surface is wet.

8. Bikes are only permitted on scheduled days and times.

Tuesday and Thursday from 3pm-Close 

Sunday All day.

Friday 2-6pm only elementary children can be in the skate park

9. Non motorized scooters are allowed in the skate park

10. Any staff at Copperview can close down the park for these listed rules or other county polices that are abused.

Are bikes allowed in the skate park?

Bikes have been approved to be in the skate park. The following days and times are allowed:

Tuesday and Thursday 3 pm-closing
Sunday All Day

When will the Skate Park Open?

The skate park is now open 7 days a week, WEATHER PERMITTING. Open at dawn. Closing at dusk, no later than 9 pm.

However, we will shut down the park for 72 hour increments or longer if we feel behavior is inappropriate or disrespectful to others.

What if I cannot afford the fee for my child to participate?

[as per policy PR121]

In both cases below, the Facility Manager or designee will review the Free Reduction Application Form and accompanying documents to certify eligibility. The applicant will be notified of approval or denial with five (5) working days of receipt of the completed form and documents.

Free & Reduced Lunch Qualifications

Youth Parent or guardian of a depended child may demonstrate low income status by providing:

  •  Letter from their school district showing qualification for free or reduced-price school lunches

This status applies only to youth enrolling in recreational programs; soccer, basketball, flag football, Ski & Snowboarding, Track & Field. Eligibility must be shown when registering for a program and is valid for 12 months, at which time renewal is required.

Upon presentation of a letter of eligibility and photo identification the program participant will be registered for the program by staff.

Free & Reduced Discounts:

  • Program rate less than $50  =  $5 discount
  • Program rate over $50  =  $10 discount 
  • Program rates over $100 = $25 discount

 There is no limit in the number of discounts per year

 Youth Recreation Program Scholarship Qualification

Families and individuals must have an income equal to or less than 150% of the current federal poverty level, as determined by the US Department of Health and Human Services Federal Poverty Guidelines.  

Household income verification must be documented and confirmed by any of the flowing

  • Prior year's tax return

Can I register by mail?
Yes! Mail your completed registration form and check made out to Salt Lake County to the address above. Please include your driver license number on the check. If you are requesting a reduced rate for a program, please come in or call and speak to the coordinator over the program.
What can I do if I see people in the skate park when the gate is locked?
Please call the UPD Midvale office  at 801-840-4000. Individuals will be cited for trespassing.
