Salt Lake County is in the process of master planning for a community center in the East Millcreek area. The site is located on Evergreen Avenue and currently houses a library, recreation center, and a park with pavilion, playing fields and other amenities. With the age of the park and existing buildings combined with the need for additional services, the County is looking at ways to provide these and other services while accommodating the growing and changing needs of the community. Since the site poses a challenge to accomplish this task, the County is interested in obtaining input from the surrounding communities as part of the master planning process. We invite you to participate in a variety of ways.
Upcoming Public Meetings - A draft Master Plan ducument will be presented to the Mayor and the County Council in the near future. The date hasn't been determined yet. Please stay tuned to this web site for future public input opportunities. Once the Master Plan document is finalized the respective Community Councils will recieve an informational update.

Residents commented on the pros and cons of each option. Many good comments we received that will be taken into axccount as the designers prepare the final Master Plan document.
December 5th & 8th: Approximately 60 to 80 residents met with County Staff and VCBO architects in multiple small workshops to discuss various conceptual ideas for positioning the building and parking on the site. Residents created over two dozen variations of the five concepts presented by VCBO architects. There were many very good concepts and ideas presented to the designers by the community. VCBO and County staff members will meet to review design concepts.
