The Salt Lake County Youth Services Division provides immediate and safe intervention
to children, youth, and families experiencing personal and/or family crises
due to harm or alleged harm of a child or the ungovernability, acting-out behavior,
or involuntary dependency of a youth.
The Division provides a hub of services to victimized/troubled youth and provides leadership in the following areas:
- Directs the Salt Lake County Commission on Youth (COY), a non-partisan coalition of citizens and professionals who are concerned about the welfare of children and youth.
- Coordinates Salt Lake County Law Enforcement and Allied Agency coordinating councils.
- Publishes and distributes "Yellow Pages for Youth" and "Laws and Consequences for Youth."
- Staffs citizen, youth, and children advisory boards.
- Staffs private, non-profit boards established for the benefit of children and youth and assists with annual fundraising events.
- Educates and advocates for systems and services which promote the well-being of children and families.
