The Salt Lake County Substance Abuse Services
Division provides a comprehensive continuum of services including
prevention, intervention, treatment, and after-care programs.
The Division serves as the local authority for the substance abuse
services system through needs assessment, planning, networking,
advocacy, and quality assurance activities.
These ongoing efforts
are coordinated to provide a system of services responsive to
the needs of Salt Lake County residents.
Roles:
- Acts as the local authority.
- Actively pursues and tracks funding.
- Manages and coordinates funds.
- Provides comprehensive, system-wide planning and evaluation as well as needs assessment.
- Establishes service priorities.
- Provides planning and program development.
- Provides administration and coordination of all alcohol and drug services.
- Ensures the needs of the public are being met effectively by using state-of-the-art models/strategies.
- Avoids duplication of services.
- Ensures the most productive use of resources.
