Salt Lake County Aging Services Division fosters the maximum feasible level
of independence for Salt Lake County's older adults by providing services, advocacy,
and assistance.
Aging Services targets its services to individuals with the greatest social
and economic needs-minorities; the low income; the frail, homebound, or those
who live alone; caregivers; and those with language barriers. As directed by
the Older Americans Act, Aging Services endeavors to be the County's leader
for all older citizens regarding the following areas:
- Advocating for systems of services to meet the needs of the County's older adults.
- Identifying funding to create or expand programs to meet the needs of older adults.
- Identifying the needs of the older population in the County.
- Providing and managing services to meet the needs of vulnerable older persons.
- Monitoring, evaluating, and commenting on actions at all levels which affect older persons.
- Representing the interests of older persons to elected officials at all levels.
- Coordinating with other agencies in the community to expand services.
- Providing a leadership role in targeting resources to meet the needs of older adults.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of agency programs and services.
- Coordinating and compiling service data and statistical and financial reports.
