Alta
Alta is a small mountain community nestled at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon in the far eastern part of Salt Lake County. A wide variety of terrain and spectacular alpine scenery combine to create a unique setting for diverse outdoor experiences. In the winter the town is a world-renowned ski area with an average snowfall of over 500 inches of light, dry snow located 30 minutes from the Salt Lake International Airport. In the summer it is a beautiful alpine environment frequented by hikers, mountain bikers, and sightseers.
