Probation and Specialty Court Services
Probation services provides comprehensive pre-sentence investigation reports to a sentencing judge, probation supervision for clients sentenced to a probation term by the judge, and related services to adults convicted of misdemeanor criminal offenses in Salt Lake County.
Probation services includes:
- Assisting courts to determine whether an offender is an appropriate candidate for probation or should be incarcerated.
- Accessing programs that will help offenders address substance abuse and criminal behavior.
- Addressing the impact of the offender’s crime on victims and the community.
- Impacting the lives of offenders in a positive way to reduce the likelihood of re-offenders.
