West Jordan Senior Center started
in 1991 in a small house located next to the Sugar Factory. The seniors of West
Jordan out grew the house and moved to an old church. The new center was built
in 2000 and is located on the same property as the small house. According to
the census, West Jordan City has a population over 108,000, making it the 4th
most populous city in the state and one of the fastest growing cities in Utah.
Advisory committee members elected from center participants to support Aging & Adult Services by providing programming opportunities, entertainment, and socialization to enrich the lives of participants.
Do you have a hobby, skill or talent you would like to share? Volunteering is the “heartbeat” of the Senior Center. Volunteers play a critical role in delivering quality programming as well as providing options for fit, active and engaged seniors. The Center has a
wide variety of opportunities for all ages to volunteer time and talents. As the gap between available resources and the needs of seniors continues to grow, Salt Lake County and Aging & Adult Services believes the role of volunteering is important and we are always looking to add new programs at the Center. To
find the volunteer opportunity that best fits your needs, skills, and time available simply talk to the staff.
